Founding Editor of Gaming Nugget. Digital-media operator running an independent network of UK-based, AI-assisted publications.

ABOUT

I started Gaming Nugget because UK gaming coverage was over-served by either press-release-driven sites or single-author opinion blogs — and underserved on honest, conversational, opinionated reviews and buying guides written by people who actually play the games. Most gaming media treats 7/10 as a polite floor; we're happy to call a 5 a 5 if that's what it is.

My background is in digital media and SEO. I've been building and operating independent publications since the mid-2010s, with a focus on niche editorial brands that earn their authority over time rather than chasing viral moments. Gaming Nugget joins a network of three sister publications in the same shape: CloudFintech (financial technology), SalesTap (B2B sales), and TuningDigital (AI / SaaS tool reviews). Each is editorially independent — different scope, different reader, different cadence — but they share an editor identity, an approach, and a transparent AI workflow.

Editorial workflow is transparent: articles are AI-drafted using Anthropic's Claude from human-selected topics and editorial briefs, then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by me before publication. The full disclosure is on the About page. The editorial responsibility — what we cover, what scores we give, what we recommend — is human.

WHAT WE COVER

Gaming Nugget runs across six editorial categories:

  • Reviews — numeric-rated reviews of released games (we never review unreleased titles)
  • News — release dates, patches, industry moves, leaks worth taking seriously
  • Guides — UK-priced buying guides, optimisation tips, build advice
  • Lists — "best of" rankings with editorial reasoning, not algorithmic top-10s
  • Opinion — short-form takes on industry direction, controversies, design choices
  • Hardware — peripherals, handhelds, PC components reviewed under real gaming use

We explicitly de-prioritise esports tournament coverage (too time-sensitive for a small team to do well), pro speedrunning guides (community-served niches), and free-to-play mobile (low affiliate value, low signal for our reader).

EDITORIAL PRINCIPLES

  • No paid reviews. Review copies are accepted but never on condition of positive coverage. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled.
  • UK English, UK pricing. Prices in GBP, release dates checked against UK availability where it differs.
  • Honest scoring. A 7/10 means "good not great" and we'll tell you what's holding it back. A 5 means "mixed". Below 5, we'll explicitly recommend skipping.
  • Verifiable sources. Where we cite numbers (player counts, performance figures, sales) we link or name the source. We don't fabricate.
  • Correct openly. Spot an error? Tell me — we correct quickly, dated, and visibly in the article.

SISTER PUBLICATIONS

Three other independent publications in the same network. Editorial scope is distinct for each — no content syndication.
